EVENING 16:00–18:00

WHAT WE COUNTED
We counted 14 pedestrians in the morning, when 30% of the street was shaded, and 28 in the evening, when all of it was. In the morning 12 of the 14 walked in shade.

WHAT IT MEANS
The idea holds, on small counts. With shade on less than a third of the street, 86% of walkers chose it.
In the evening everyone is in shade, so no choice can be seen, but twice as many people walk.
